2017-2018 District Rotaract Board Applications

Applications for 2017-2018 District Rotaract Board Positions will open March 9, 2017.

All district board officers will serve 1 year terms from July 1, 2017-June 30, 2018. 

Time commitment required will vary by position and is flexible. If you're interested in joining the district leadership team but not sure about the time commitment or have any other questions, please contact Mariah at 5030rotaract@gmail.com. 

All Board Members will be expected to:
  1. Report to the District Rotaract Representative
  2. Attend monthly board meetings
  3. Train successor on all aspects of your position
  4. Pass off any materials in your possession that pertain to your position to your successor

Secretary
The Secretary will be responsible for maintaining the administrative organization of the District Leadership Team.
  1. Keep minutes of monthly board meetings
  2. maintain organization of district Google Drive

Service Chair
The Service Chair is responsible for supporting clubs’ service endeavors and ensuring clubs meet minimum service requirements per RI. Additionally, the Service chair is responsible for promoting and coordinating Rotaract club participation in the District grant program
  1. Survey club Service Chairs to understand what their clubs need the most help with
  2. Work with Rotaract clubs to raise awareness of district grant opportunities. Complete regular follow up with clubs, especially around grant deadlines.
  3. Create resources on service as needed or requested by the Rotaract Board
  4. Train incoming Service Chairs
 
Events Chair
The Events Chair will be responsible for organizing District-wide events, including social events and District Conference participation.
  1. Organize 2-4 district-wide social events with the goal of creating opportunities for members of different clubs to connect
  2. Work with District Conference Planning Committee to plan Rotaract portion of the event
    1. Attend District Conference planning meetings
    2. Coordinate all logistics for Rotaract-related portions of the event
    3. Work with District Rotaract Leadership Team to identify topics and speakers for breakout sessions
    4. Work with Communications chair to promote Rotaractor attendance at the District Conference

Membership Chair
The Membership Chair is responsible for the development and the implementation of a membership strategy to recruit and retain members in District 5030’s new and existing Rotaract clubs.
  1. Survey club Membership Chairs to understand what their clubs need the most help with
  2. Brainstorm, research, and collect ideas and resources to retain and recruit members
  3. Reach out to club Membership Chairs periodically and notify them that they can use you as a resource/adviser
  4. Outline detailed goals for the year and share them with the Rotaract Board
  5. Create resources and training materials on membership
  6. Train incoming Membership Chairs

Communications Chair
The Communications Chair is responsible for overseeing Rotaract District online presence including website and Facebook page. The Communications Chair will work with Rotaract clubs to provide marketing resources and promote club events.
  1. Manage District Rotaract website and Facebook page
  2. Create resources on communications as needed or requested by the Rotaract Board
  3. Provide extra guidance and support to chartering/recently chartered Rotaract clubs
  4. Keep a contact list of club communications/PR chairs, maintain regular contact with them to learn what club events need promotional assistance from the district.
  5. Work with the Events Chair to identify marketing and communication needs and carry out promotion plan.
  6. Work with District Rotaract Chair to coordinate submissions for monthly district newsletter.
  7. Coordinate schedule of district representatives visiting Rotary Clubs and Rotaract clubs to promote major events.
 
Development Chair
The Development Chair will be responsible for working with Rotary clubs and interested young people to identify and evaluate opportunities for the creation of new Rotaract Clubs. The Development Chair will work with chartering committees to provide resources and guidance in the chartering process. 
  1. Coordinate the efforts of the various Directors and Chairs to support the development of new clubs.
  2. Create resources and training materials on service as needed or requested by the Rotaract Board
  3. Provide extra guidance and support to chartering/recently chartered Rotaract clubs
  4. Support the founding of new Rotaract clubs within our district by providing resources to develop a District Development Program
